Chinese New Year

Fireworks explode in the streets
Hong Kong, China

On the streets with tiny shops exploding fireworks. This noise is worn over the skyscrapers in the sky and over the thick smoke. Young men with muscles frantically beating on their drums, gongs and cymbals. Everyone wants to create a larger sound of his instrument. Lions and dragons playfully dancing in the streets. Wind carries smoke flavor of burning incense. It's Chinese New Year. This is probably the funniest annual celebration in Hong Kong. Filled with the same slow, joy and rituals as they were held for centuries.

Hong Kong consists of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula and several islands. This area is located in southeast China. Has an international airport in Hong Kong. Hong Kong's best to be explored on foot. Or use the excellent public transport system consisting of metro, tram, buses and taxis. In January the weather is mostly dry. Temperatures are around 13 to 18 degrees.
Wherever they are weaned colored lions and their noise drives away the previous year. Also drove the evil spirits and bad luck. Dance with lions began in the days after New Year. And they begin preparations for a few days before. All cleaned homes and offices to erase the old year. Many people decorate their doors and windows with symbols of prosperity, joy, longevity and marriage. On the evening of New Year, families gather around the table with gorgeous dishes. Leave doors and windows open to take the luck the New Year. At midnight go outside to light fireworks. Hong Kong offers more show of all Chinese cities. Hundreds of thousands of spectators watch the sky like a TV screen.
The next day after the new year you can walk to shops for flowers, where Chinese buy flowers to decorate your home for the holiday. Explore temples where people pray for health and wellbeing. Whatever you do you will be immersed in this city.
Hong Kong is a compact place with two major urban areas. On the north Kowloon and on Hong Kong Island south. They are connected by ferries and railways. Remote areas and islands by Chinese former Portuguese colony of Macau are also fascinating.
