At the end of the world


Southern Patagonia
Punta Arenas, Chile

Every early morning over the Beagle Channel ice gradually illuminated in blue peacock. This is ice from floating glaciers. Winter silence broken by the deafening crack of large shear pieces of ice falling into the ocean. This is a land of incredible wildlife, dense natural forest and huge glaciers.


In Santiago, the capital of Chile, landing international flights. From Santiago to fly for 5 hours to reach Punta Arenas. It is located 2140 kilometers south of Santiago. Where is the starting point of your cruise. There are many ports. This allows passengers to walk on them. In January you can expect temperatures ranging from 5 to 15 degrees. Rarely rain, and yet in Santiago is sunny and pleasant. Journey through this amazing landscape of Punta Arenas in Chile to Ushuaia in Argentina slowly reveals the view from the floating vessel in the Strait of Magellan. Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world. Here is the amazing foliage with varied fauna of national parks. Sailing the network of fjords, channels and islands, the ship allows you to tap to that distant land. If you cruise through this land on foot, would give you an opportunity to explore this fascinating land and its flora and fauna. On the small island of Magdalena live more than 60,000 penguins. Their black and white color seems irresistible views while swaying along. From the look of Pia Fjord, you can see the whole glacier descending to the sea. End island Tucker will see playful southern dolphins and sea lions. And beyond Cape Horn to face the Atlantic and Pacific. Thin ice particles sprinkled sea. A lot of fierce winds hamper expeditions to Antarctica and reached the end of the world. This journey reveals the landscape that is beautiful, bleak and unforgettable.
Week boat trip around the south
Day-1
Spend the day exploring Santiago. Take the funicular up Cerro San Cristobal before lunch in the bustling central market. Then visit the museum of Chilean pre-Columbian art to see fascinating exhibits.
Day-2
Take a plane to Punta Arenas, this is the starting point of the journey. The ship departs in 18 hours. You have to book a place at the port until late afternoon.
Day 3-4
Descent of Glacier Bay Ansuart Marinella is walk through the forest. It represents an extreme drop in Brookes Glacier. You will then be directed to the home of a huge colony of sea elephants. Another option is to make a trip to Magdalena Island to see thousands of penguins. Then you can see penguins as your ship passes the island Tucker.
After sailing in much Beagle Channel, the next exit is Pia Glacier. The climb up to a height which will allow to monitor the floating ice of Mount Darwin sea. The vessel then continued through the Beagle Channel by striking "Gletchar Avenue"
Day-5
The journey continues to stunning Cape Horn, where the merged Atlantic and Pacific. Afternoon visit Puerto Williams, home to nearly 2,000.
Day-6
This morning, arrive in Ushuaia. Oh here you can take a "Train the end of the world" in Tierra del Fuego and enjoy the fantastic fresh fish for dinner.
Day-7
Back in Santiago, where you can buy South American souvenirs before heading home.
Tips
Try the local beer in Punta Arenas-CA AG, made in the southern brewery in the world. This is the best beer in Chile.
Do not underestimate the cold. Temperatures are consistently low, and the board could be very cold. So I wear warm enough clothing.
Be prepared to seasickness because the Beagle channel can be quite turbulent.
